FELDER desoxidation concentrate Sn99Ge1 sets the Ge-content in wave, selective and HASL machines back to the required values. FELDER desoxidation concentrate Sn99Ge1 is also used for the conversion from lead-containing standard solders to FELDER NiGe-electronic solders. The Ge-consumption heavily depends on the applied solder technology. Solder temperature, the additional usage of protective gas or covering oils and as well as the output of the machine are factors to influence the demand. The oxidation-reducing effect of germanium (Ge) inside the FELDER NiGe solders goes along with a reduction of that element during the solder process. The Ge-content of the solder bath should be between 0.010% und 0.015%. At a Ge-content below 0.008% it sharply looses its desoxidating effect. By adding Ge-concentrate that consumption will be compensated. Those wire sections are just added into the molten solder and quckly dissolve inside of it. After a short while runing the soldering pump(s) the Germanium has become homogeneous and is evenly distributed within the solder bath.
